Tetovo’s theatre is one of the newest theatres in the Republic of Macedonia. After a vigorous request by the actors of Tetovo for establishing a scene where they can interpret, in 2007 the National Institution – Tetovo’s Theatre was established with a team comprised of 15 actors and 15 as administrative staff.

The inauguration of this institution was done with the premiere of “Çmendina” on October 22, 2007.  The lack of the building and of the necessary conditions in order to function as a normal theatre, have never been a barrier that this cultural institution has produced 22 successful theatrical plays that were presented in different festivals in Macedonia and in the region, such as the renowned international festival “MESS” in Sarajevo, BH in October 2012 with the play “Aquarium” with a text by Refet Abazi, directed by Luca Cortina.
